Traumatic event

Traumatic events (trauma in short) may exist of one or more events that took place over the course of months or even years. A trauma is an event that is extremely frightening or shocking. Examples of such events are:

  • disasters
  • war
  • sexual or physical abuse, assault, rape
  • severe traffic accident
  • weapened raid
  • being witness of a violent death
  • other situations, in which one felt frightened, helpless or repulsed, or felt as if one’s life was in danger.
